Webb takes advantage of being left behind and wins!
The third and final game at Houston's NRG Stadium was won by Cooper Webb. The KTM rider managed to strike on the last lap, but Dean Wilson forced Ken Roczen to take a different line. Webb didn't hesitate for a moment and took over the lead. Roczen comes second ahead of Kawasaki rider Adam Cianciarulo. The German is the new leader in the standings, one point ahead of Justin Barcia and Webb!
In the grand final over 20 minutes and a lap, Webb takes the best start ahead of Roczen, Aaron Plessinger, Cianciarulo and Martin Davalos! A duel for the lead immediately arises, allowing Cianciarulo to keep up the pace. After two laps the Honda rider starts the attack and is successful. He then breaks away from the former champion with a maximum lead of 3,5 seconds. Then the laggards come into view, causing the lead to decrease. On the final lap, Dean Wilson continues to ride on the ideal line while not in a battle. The Husqvarna rider causes Roczen to make a mistake and Webb doesn't think twice! The attack succeeds and Webb wins his first of the season ahead of Roczen and Cianciarulo. Barcia hasn't had the best start again, but at one point he drives faster than the lead. A fall in the loose sand throws him back. Tomac briefly takes over fourth place, but 'BamBam' comes back and finishes fourth ahead of the Kawasaki rider.
The championship continues next week in Indianapolis, where three races will also be held in 8 days.
