Nichols in the lead after victory with Craig!
After a third and second place, Colt Nichols was able to climb to the top step of the podium in Houston 3. The Yamaha rider won the final ahead of teammate Christian Craig and Jett Lawrence finished third! In the standings, Nichols and Craig are jointly in the lead on six points, followed by the Australian. There were problems for Austin Forkner and RJ Hampshire, both crashed in training and did not return to action!
In the final, the Star Racing Yamaha immediately stormed to the first corner as leaders. Craig takes the lead ahead of Nichols and Maximus Vohland. The KTM rider gets into a heated battle with Michael Mosiman. At the front, the teammates distance themselves and fight together for victory. After more than ten minutes, Nichols briefly takes the lead, but Craig comes back. Another round later it's Nichols again and now with success! After more than 2 years, the 26-year-old rider from Muskogee, Oklahoma finally wins his second final. Craig comes second ahead of Lawrence who has to fight back after a very bad start. The Honda rider finishes third ahead of Jo Shimoda and Mosiman, who still manages to leave Vohland behind.
