Is Honda experimenting with traction control?
During the three races in Houston, only technical innovations were seen on the circuit. So there was the air shock absorber by Justin Barcia, but there was also something to see on Jett Lawrence's Honda. On the rear wheel was a device that could be nothing other than a sensor to measure the rotational speed.
If you want to measure the rotational speed of a wheel you have to add data to the ECU. That data comes from a sensor similar to that of your car, for example. for the ABS to work. Jett Lawrence only used the system during the free exercises and not in the match. Traction control is basically prohibited in AMA Supercross. The regulations state that there may not be a sensor on the front wheel. Lawrence's is on the rear wheel and it appears that Honda wants to collect data via the sensor. It is not known whether the ECU actually intervenes when wheelspin occurs.
