Eli Tomac hits back with victory!
The first match of the year is often a disappointment for Eli Tomac. During Houston2 the Kawasaki rider took the best possible revenge. The reigning champion won the final at the NRG Stadium ahead of rookie Dylan Ferrandis and 36-year-old Justin Brayton!
In the final, Chase Sexton is the best starter, the Honda rider won his heat earlier in the evening and that gives him wings. Adam Cianciarulo follows ahead of teammate Tomac and Brayton! At the front, Sexton and Cianciarulo take some distance from Tomac, who chooses his own pace. With success because first Cianciarulo makes the mistake and not much later Sexton follows. Tomac grabs the lead with both hands and wins his first of the season. Zach Osborne manages to take second place from Brayton, but the Husqvarna rider makes a mistake. Then there is rookie Ferrandis who scores a beautiful second place for Braton. The Honda rider has to work hard against Cooper Webb but the KTM rider has to settle for the spot next to the podium. Ken Roczen completes the top five in the NRG Stadium. The German is the new leader in the standings, followed by just one point by Justin Barcia, who now did not get further than ninth place.
