Potisek wins Hexis sand race, Van Berkel fifth
With two series victories, Milko Potisek was the great triumphant of the Hexis sand race in Loon-plage. Not a competition for the French beach racing championship, but one with a nice field of participants. Lars Van Berkel sent his Honda to P5 in both motos.
In contrast to the usual beach races, there was only room for 30 starters due to the strict corona measures. In the first race, Potisek came back very strongly from 10th place. Yet the Yamaha rider was not given the victory. Because he came to a standstill in the final phase, Camille Chapeliere made a strong comeback. The young Jeremy Hauquier also made his mark with an excellent third place. SR Honda Motoblouz rider Lars Van Berkel was consistent all day and finished fifth each time.
Greg Smets also performed consistently in Loon. The Kempen KTM pilot recorded two seventh places. In the revival there was no limit to Potisek, who won easily ahead of the British Todd Kellet. By the way, he would come second in the final standings for Chapeliere. Young Matheo Miot had bad luck in series 1 when he ran out of gas. In the second heat he finished sixth ahead of Smets. Nick Leerkes achieved his best performance of the day with a 13th place. Striking: You don't immediately expect FMX star Tom Pagès (23-17) in a beach race, but with a little more rhythm he can certainly hold his own here too.
