A thank you from Stefan Everts to son Liam
During the news on VRT tonight, a video was shown in which Stefan Everts thanks his cross-country son Liam. Liam Everts received a helmet from his father as part of “The Warmest Week”.
This year's Warmest Week is not about raising money, but about the importance of being there for each other, especially when times get tough. “Difficult” is an understatement for what Stefan Everts (48) has experienced over the past two years. His son Liam Everts (16) was a bright spot in two difficult years and that is why Stefan wanted to give his son a special gift during this period.
The agony of Stefan Everts is well known. In December 2018, he contracted malaria during a charity match in Congo. He ended up in an induced coma and lost several toes. His rehabilitation turned the whole of 2019 into an annus horribilis. Only since last summer 2020 has the pain slowly improved. You can continue reading the article with video below this link.
