The curtain falls for KTM Diga Junior Racing!
EMX top team KTM Diga Junior Racing will no longer appear at the start in 2021. Owner and manager Dirk Saelen felt obliged to make this decision due to a combination of circumstances.
The Belgian motocross team started on a small scale in the VLM amateur federation in 1998 but subsequently grew into a permanent fixture in the international MX scene. Saelen achieved podiums in the MX2 World Championship, the EMX250 and the EMX125 with riders such as Antonio Butron, Miro Sihvonen, Emil Weckman and Florian Miot. In addition, the formation also competed in the MX1 World Championship, the WMX and won national titles in the Netherlands and Finland.
“In recent seasons, KTM Diga Junior Racing has focused specifically on the training of young talents. However, after the end of the past season it became clear that the collaboration with our motorcycle partner would not be extended. Of course, the current, uncertain economic climate also played a role,” Saelen explains.
In addition to young motocross riders, many technical people also learned the ropes at KTM Diga Junior Racing. “I am pleased that our team has played an important role in the careers of so many professional people, both on and off the track.
Saying goodbye was a difficult but well-considered decision. The passion for motorsport is still there, which is why we continue to organize the amateur competition at the Keiheuvel. My wife and I would like to thank all our partners, drivers, team members and friends for their contribution, no matter how big or small.”
