Tonus and Guillod to Hostettler Yamaha
Arnaud Tonus has found a new employer for 2021 with Hostettler Yamaha. Tonus, who was still a factory pilot at Yamaha in 2020, will remain loyal to the Japanese brand for a new season in the MXGP World Championship. His new teammate Valentin Guillod will mainly focus on the Swiss championship.
In addition to Tonus and Guillod, Tjsech Petr Polak (MX2) and the Swiss Joel Elsener (EMX250) will also compete for Hostettler Yamaha. Operationally, the team will be run by Jef Janssen. Thanks to the support of Hostettler, the Swiss Yamaha importer, clothing brand IXS and the well-known watch brand Tissot, the team receives an explicit Swiss contribution.
“We have a big task ahead of us, but we are really looking forward to it. We have an excellent and super motivated group. Thanks to the support of the Hostettler group and Yamaha, we also have two very strong partners behind us. We will start training soon and I am looking forward to optimally preparing for the new season.” said team owner and manager Jef Janssen.
Arnaud Tonus: 'I am very happy and motivated to remain active within the Yamaha family. I have been riding this bike for four seasons and it is great to continue this relationship. Hostettler's support is also a huge help, for which I am very grateful. It is quite a challenge for a new team to get all this done, but we have a strong group of people within this team that ensures that we can perform well. It's still a while before the season starts again, so I'm already looking forward to a good preparation and a great season.”
