Van de Moosdijk seventh in his first GP season!
The first full Grand Prix season resulted in Roan van de Moosdijk finishing seventh in the final standings. The 20-year-old rider only managed to score in the first heat during the eighteenth and final race of the season. Unfortunately he was unable to start the second heat due to a sore thumb. At the Arco di Trento circuit, Ben Watson wins the last Grand Prix, Tom Vialle was sure of the world title.
1st Round
For the ninth time this season, an F&H Kawasaki will start from pole position. Roan trained fastest for the sixth time this season, but unfortunately he was not able to make optimal use of this position during the heat. Roan has to work his way up from outside the top ten and he is succeeding quite well. In the second laps the Leatt-clad rider manages to work his way up to ninth place. The difference with its predecessors is minimal, but unfortunately attacks are not possible. Last Wednesday the former EMX250 champion hurt his thumb and this increasingly affected him during the heat. Despite that problem, Roan managed to cross the finish line in ninth place.
2st Round
During the break it is decided after consultation that Roan will no longer start the second round. The sore thumb plays too many tricks and there is nothing to be gained by the Kawasaki rider. After all, seventh place in the World Cup final standings has already been secured!
Next game:
The season is over and it was one to remember! This of course applies to the vicissitudes caused by the coronavirus, but also to the performance! Roan finishes seventh in his first full GP season; he is on the GP podium five times and wins a GP round in Lommel! Mathys Boisrame is on the podium twice and takes pole twice. Mikkel Haarup starts the season with pole in England and the Dane was also on the podium there.
