Small mistakes cost Roan van de Moosdijk top ranking
The sixteenth Grand Prix of the season did not go smoothly for Roan van de Moosdijk. The F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing rider finished ninth and eighth in both motos. The Eindhove native made small mistakes that caused him to fall and prevented him from finishing in the top five. Mathys Boisrame and Mikkel Haarup will no longer play this year due to injuries. Jago Geerts wins the GP, Tom Vialle is the leader in the standings with two races left on the calendar.
1st Round
At 8.15 am Roan can already be found on the circuit to qualify for the competitions later this day. The 20-year-old rider rides a number of fast laps and that earns him a decent second place on the grid. However, the first heat does not start very well for the Leatt-clad rider. He is included in midfield and has to work his way forward. The differences on this beautiful circuit are small, but Roan has set a good pace. The Brabander quickly enters the top ten and then works his way up to seventh place. The sixth man is in the picture and the connection is sought and found quite quickly. However, in his drive, the Kawasaki rider makes a mistake that causes him to slip and fall. Roan loses two places which he naturally wants to make up for. The connection with Renaux is found, but he cannot be passed up and Roan crosses the finish line in ninth place.
2e some
The second start is slightly better and Roan comes out of the first corner in the top ten. He can then quickly work his way up to eighth place. First Rubini is passed and not much later Malkiewicz also has to make way for the former EMX250 champion. After more than five minutes, Roan enters the top five and tries to connect with the fourth man Geerts. When third man Kjer Olsen falls, Roan is at Geerts' back wheel. The Arai-supported rider prepares an attack, but unfortunately it does not come to that. When entering a short bend, the front wheel goes off track and Roan falls. From fourth place, Roan drops back to sixth, but unfortunately it doesn't stop there. A second fall means that two more places are lost and the Kawasaki rider has to settle for eighth place.
Next game:
Next Wednesday, Roan can take sporting revenge, when the World Cup continues in Arco.
