The provisional 2021 MXGP calendar is here!
This morning Infront Moto Racing released a provisional calendar for next year. A first observation is that the season starts later than normal. This has been done to give the pandemic the opportunity to ease and for the teams and riders to carry out the necessary tests and preparations for a new, intensive racing season.
The aim is to keep the calendar in the usual format, but this will be adapted, if necessary, to the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 race calendar will feature 20 GP races and will introduce four brand new venues. There is the MXGP of Oman on the Muscat circuit, together with the MXGP of the Netherlands in Oss, the MXGP of Finland in Itti-KymiRing, which was already on the 2020 calendar but was subsequently postponed until 2021, and the MXGP of Igora Drive in Russia.
In addition, the FIM Motocross World Championship will also return to some of its favorite locations including Agueda, Teutschenthal, Orlyonok, Kegums, Jakarta, Semarang, Loket, Lommel, Uddevalla, Afyonkarahisar, St Jean d'Angely, in Xanadu-Arroyomolinos and Neuquen in Patagonia-Argentina. The season starts on April 3, 2021 with the MXGP of Oman, before returning to Europe. And, after a year's break, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations will also be back on the calendar. It will take place on September 26 at the Imola circuit.
