Calvin Vlaanderen remains with Gebben Van Venrooy Racing
The Dutch Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha Racing announced today that it will continue with Calvin Vlaanderen in 2021. The 24-year-old Dutchman started his rookie season in the MXP injured, but still managed to get into the spotlight. Flanders finished its first season on the 450 as 10th in the World Championship standings.
Calvin finished 2th in the final standings in both Lommel 1 and Mantova 7. Now that his first season among the big boys is over, it is time to see what the MX of Nations champion can show in 2021. In addition to the MXGP, Flanders will also compete in the Dutch Masters of Motocross, provided they do not coincide with the MXGP calendar. The team will announce the second driver soon.
Calvin Flanders: "I am very happy that I will be joining Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha for another year. I would like to thank Ruud van Venrooy, Emile Gebben and Klaas Hattem for believing in me and giving me everything I need to achieve my goals. I really enjoyed working with them this year. We have made a lot of progress as a team with the bike but also in terms of driving and that is reflected in the results. I'm looking forward to a strong winter preparation to be 100% ready for 2021. I can't wait for the new season with the team!”
Klaas Hattem (team manager): “The Gebben Van Venrooy team is very happy with the contract extension of Calvin Vlaanderen. We are all very motivated to translate the confidence that Calvin has in the team into results! Calvin has the potential to grow to the absolute top and the team will do everything it can to realize that.”
