Ben Watson says goodbye with GP victory
In his last MX2 Grand Prix, Ben Watson managed to take victory. The Briton came third and first during the races around the Arco di Trento circuit. The Yamaha rider wins the final ahead of Tom Vialle (1-5) and Maxime Renaux (2-4). In the final standings, Watson also manages to take fifth place from Thomas Kjer Olsen! Roan van de Moosdijk only competes in the first round, where he finishes ninth. Nathan Renkens scores the first heat with a sixteenth place. Unfortunately, Bas Vaessen remains scoreless today.

During the time training, Vialle fell briefly and hurt his knee. This is not noticeable during the first heat. The KTM rider takes his 21st FOX Holeshot Award and then distances himself. Renaux follows in second place ahead of Geerts. In the first corner Thomas Kjer Olsen gets into trouble with Ruben Fernandez. The Dane still has a chance at fourth and perhaps third place in the final standings, but this of course does not help. Renaux sees his compatriot taking distance and he is followed by Geerts. The Balenaar tries to take over second place, but that doesn't work. Watson joins his Yamaha colleagues and when Geerts makes a mistake, the Brit takes advantage. Watson goes looking for Renaux, but he cannot be traced. Renaux therefore comes second ahead of Watson and Geerts. Stephen Rubini scores well with fifth place. Despite his pole position, Van de Moosdijk does not get further than ninth place. Renkens scores five points, the KTM rider crosses the finish line in 16th. Vaessen rides in thirteenth place for a long time, but the Limburger crashes and leaves the race early.
2e some
The last FOX Holeshot Award of the season goes to Geerts followed by Watson. The 23-year-old Brit takes the lead while Vialle crashes in the second corner! Renaux comes out of the first corner in third place ahead of Gifting and Beaton. The Australian immediately takes over the GasGas driver and takes over fourth place. Not much later, Renaux also had to make way for the Husqvarna rider. At the front, the KEMEA riders are making it a great race. Watson is in charge and Geerts follows like a shadow. The Balenian's first attack is repelled by his teammate. There won't be a second one because Geerts makes a mistake and hits his head hard on the ground. This gives Beaton second place and he even follows the leader. Due to mistakes, Beaton is unable to attack Watson. He wins the heat and with it the GP. A special end to his MX2 career! Beaton comes second for Gifting! The Swede manages to pass Renaux and Vialle returns to fifth place. This means that the world champion is still on the podium.
The season is over and despite the problems with the corona virus, Infront Moto Racing managed to get eighteen more races on the calendar. There is no calendar available yet for 2021, the intention is for the calendar to be published later this month.
