VLM will collaborate even more intensively with Motorsport Vlaanderen
Yesterday, an announcement was sent out to the world by VLM chairman Eddy Houtmeyers about the course of events in 2021. The cooperation with the government will be "tightened" and the VLM will go under the wings of Motorsport Vlaanderen, the former VMBB.
Eddy Houtmeyers: "The road to 2021 still seems long, but nothing could be further from the truth. Despite the great disappointment due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will still prepare the start of the 2021 season as always. We are no longer going to talk about 2020, where we tried everything to get a start. Hence my thanks to everyone who helped us to get started in 2020. Not only our board members and service members, but also our organizers and employees, together with local authorities, have done everything they can to get started. We looked forward with great admiration to the organizing staff who fought with united spirit. With regret in our hearts we had to stop the fight, but with health in mind we had to press the pause button. We are not going to sit back and prepare everything to start 2021 with hope."
“Collaborations remain of paramount importance to us, and they remain highly necessary even in times of corona. That is why we are tightening cooperation at government level and working under the wings of Motorsport Vlaanderen. It gives us a better sense of security and will support us in the future. Let us set an example with the MX protocols that are and will remain necessary in 2021. Here too, these protocols have made it possible for the exercises performed.
We are going to make sure everything is in order to start 2021 in a safe and responsible manner, while also taking health into account. Rules must be followed to make these guarantees possible. That is why we would also like to ask everyone to follow these imposed and necessary measures, even if they are sometimes difficult to understand. Don't make it difficult for the organizing bodies, and give them the necessary credit to make and keep this all possible.”
Let us put our shoulders to the wheel together,
because together we are strong and together we achieve more.
The permits for 2021 can also be arranged from now on. All official permit holders from 2020 will be able to benefit from the transfer to 2021. This transfer is accompanied by a minimum deduction for 2020 due to insurance. That is why we ask for a contribution of €60 for VLM license holders and €50 for the youthful classes of JMS (initiation / new.65 & 85 /juniors / aspirants) for this transfer. We also need limited data for this transfer, such as personal data that may have been changed, but also the medical certificate, regulations and statement from both parents for minors. That is why we have two different permit applications:
- Permit application for licenses 2020
- Permit application 2021 for new licenses
