Van de Moosdijk close to the Spanish podium
On the brand new Arroyomolinos circuit, Roan van de Moosdijk managed to score well during the twelfth Grand Prix of the season. The KX250F rider finished eighth and third on the circuit just south of Madrid. This placed Roan fourth in the daily rankings. The other riders of the F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team did not score. Mathys Boisrame crashed hard in the first heat and did not participate in the second heat. Mikkel Haarup was absent after sustaining a thumb injury during Mantova 2. The victory went to Tom Vialle who also leads the World Cup by a wide margin.
1st Round
In the timed training, Roan managed to record a good second time. The Brabander's start is not that good, but Mathys's is! The 22-year-old rider dives into the first corner shoulder to shoulder with Vialle! It is the World Cup leader who wins the Holeshot Award, but in the second corner Mathys comes inside to take the lead. The joy is short-lived because in the next corner Mathys crashes and sees the entire starting field pass. Roan can climb to fifth place and even tries to gain fourth place at the expense of Geerts. Unfortunately, that doesn't work and when the now 20-year-old Roan makes a mistake, he drops back to seventh place. In the second laps a position is taken back when Rubini is passed, but this comes back in the second half of the race! Roan crosses the finish line in eighth place while Mathys left the race prematurely. In his drive to make up for the fall on the first lap, the Leatt-clad rider crashes hard a second time. This fall ensures that further driving is not possible.
2e some
After the crash in the first moto, Mathys had some problems with his body, so the team decided to keep him aside. Roan's start is good and he comes out of the first corner in the leading group. On the first lap Fernandez and Rubini are passed and just before completing the first full lap the Kawasaki rider manages to take over third place from Watson. During the first half of the match, Roan looks at the two title candidates in the back and if they make a mistake, he will be there. However, that does not happen and the Eindhoven native drives a strong but lonely race in which he crosses the finish line in third place. It is the sixth time this year that Roan has managed to finish a round in the top three. In the daily rankings, Roan finished fourth, just shy of a podium by 3 points. The entire team is looking forward to next weekend!
Next game:
From Spain, the team quickly travels to Moordrecht and returns to Lommel on Thursday morning. There are six more races on the program, starting on October 18 with the Belgian Grand Prix.
