Twan van Essen about Lommel 1
In Lommel, Twan van Essen managed to score in both rounds during the tenth race of the European 250cc Championship. The Marchetti Racing driver looks back on his race on the 'Circuit Heeserbergen'.
The training went well and I immediately felt good on the track. The last matches build up the day differently and fortunately that turned out well. I immediately managed to set a good pace for several laps in a row. The timed training did not go well because due to an engine problem I had to immediately switch engines. Later I also hurt my ankle, which meant I was unable to improve my first time. The start in the first moto was not good, but with my own pace I managed to work my way back to thirteenth place. The second heat actually went the same way, but now I had more difficulty getting into the race, so I didn't get further than eighteenth place. Next Tuesday the last game of the season.”
