Tom Vialle wins in the Lion's den!
The Belgian Grand Prix has been won by Tom Vialle! The 19-year-old KTM rider managed to cross the finish line in second place in both heats, giving him his sixth GP victory of the season. Jago Geerts (4-1) comes second ahead of teammate Ben Watson (1-5). The Frenchman thus increases his lead to 53 points with five games left on the calendar.

For the fifteenth time this year it is Vialle who claims the FOX Holeshot Award. The Frenchman is followed by Geerts and Watson. The F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing riders are also in good shape. Mathys Boisrame is followed by Van de Moosdijk. In the first full lap Geerts tries to choose a different line and loses the front. The Balenaar crashes and drops back to tenth place. He then manages to work his way back to third place in three laps, but then he misses again! Vialle is in the lead but Watson follows like a shadow. Halfway through the match, the Brit goes on the attack and with success. With two laps to go it becomes even more exciting as Vialle tries to regain the lead. Then the son of former GP winner Fred Vialle makes a mistake and that gives Watson free rein. After four years, an Englishman wins another GP round in MX2! The last was Max Anstie, he won both heats in Frauenfeld on August 7, 2016. Vialle has a wide lead over third man Renaux. The KTM rider comes second ahead of his compatriot who manages to keep Geerts behind him. Kjer Olsen is fifth ahead of GasGas rider Isak Gifting. Van de Moosdijk collides with a fallen straggler, causing him to cross the finish line in tenth place ahead of fellow countryman Bas Vaessen. Cyril Genot falls in the first round, but he comes back very well and finishes fourteenth. Nathan Renkens scores three points by finishing 18th.

Vialle is also the best starter in the second round and he is followed by Yamaha riders Geerts, Watson and Renaux. Van de Moosdijk also started the second heat well, the Leatt-clad rider occupies fifth place. While the two title rivals distance themselves, Renaux manages to take over third place from Watson. Not much later, the winner of the first heat makes a mistake and falls. Meanwhile, Kjer Olsen has placed a successful attack on Van de Moosdijk, putting the Husqvarna rider in fourth place. A little later, the Dane passes Renaux and the Frenchman also sees Van de Moosdijk pass. After 12 minutes of the race, Geerts takes the lead from Vialle. Just like in the first heat, Vialle continues to follow the leader, but now he has to be satisfied with second place. Geerts with which he manages to recoup some of the damage from the first heat. Van de Moosdijk took third place from Kjer Olsen after 20 minutes of the match. The Eindhoven native finishes third ahead of Kjer Olsen and Watson, who are still coming back strongly. A special performance by Gifting, he crashes in the first corner but still crosses the finish line in eighth place ahead of Renkens! Vaessen is now fourteenth, but Genot unfortunately does not finish.
The Grand Prix season continues next Wednesday in Lommel!
