Technology: the correct maintenance of your motocross goggles
Motocross riders must maintain their vision clearly with motocross goggles. The glasses protect you against sand and stones and keep sweat away from your eyes. Motocross goggles must be cleaned after every race, but it is best to do so according to the rules of the art.
A modern lens is very scratch resistant, but improper cleaning can sometimes cause more scratches than the race itself. A number of manufacturers such as Oakley and Scott have an anti-fog or anti-fog layer on the inside of the lens. This is very sensitive to products such as window cleaner. Just use mild detergent or just lukewarm water. Always ensure that the lens is not wiped, but rather pat the lens dry with a microfiber cloth.
Replace a lens full of scratches and also inspect the frame for cracks. In any case, glasses must be replaced every three years to guarantee safety and proper functioning. In the video you see an Oakley Airbrake being cleaned and specifically for this type you also see the lens and other replaceable parts being removed. With these tips you can enjoy your motocross goggles for longer and you can ignore the "goggle lane".
