Sexton and Osborne each write their own history!!
Zach Osborne's career turns are material for a book or even a movie. A young man from whom a lot was expected, who succumbed to the pressure and searched for himself and for hope to keep his dreams alive. And he came to do so in the shadow of the less followed MX2 World Championship in America. Everything that followed is, as they say, history and today he was able to write history again after already two East 250 Supercross titles and one 250 AMA Motocross title.
We will come back to the story of Zach Osborne one of these days. We first look at what happened at Pala Raceway on Saturday. In the first heat the people got to see a nice battle. It was Marvin Musquin who managed to take the holeshot, but after a few laps the Frenchman already seemed to be at the end of his rope. Adam Cianciarulo made good use of this, the Kawasaki pilot took over the lead and seemed to be on his way to winning the series for a long time. This was not taken into account by Eli Tomac. Adam Cianciarulo's Kawasaki teammate had already provided entertainment throughout the moto by fighting from seventh place to second place and with about three laps to go, Eli Tomac also managed to take the lead in the race. He did not give up this place again. For example, Eli Tomac, who will have to hand over his number one plate to a successor after the second round, won ahead of Adam Cianciarulo and Chase Sexton. Christian Craig and Zach Osborne completed the top five and Marvin Musquin eventually finished in sixth position.
At the start of the second moto it was Adam Cianciarulo who took the holeshot. The Kawasaki pilot managed to lead for almost two-thirds of a moto, and for a long time it looked like Adam Cianciarulo would lead the race from lead to finish. If it weren't for a kicker in the circuit that the young American could no longer anticipate. The Kawasaki pilot hit the ground and the Honda duo Chase Sexton and Christian Craig took advantage of this. Both steamed past Adam Cianciarulo and on to a double for Honda in the second moto. Adam Cianciarulo finished third ahead of Eli Tomac and Marvin Musquin. The British Max Anstie finished sixth on his Suzuki and in seventh place we found Zach Osborne. This seventh place was more than enough for the Husqvarna pilot to score his first title on a 450cc machine!
Who made history was Chase Sexton. The Honda pilot scored the overall victory with his third place in the first heat and his series victory in the second heat. Immediately his first overall victory in the 450 class for the Honda pilot.
