Romain Febvre about his second place in Lommel
Driving a Grand Prix three times in eight days is tough, but what about Lommel! It is clear that Romain Febvre is feeling good, he was close to victory! Clement Desalle rode his last home GP, both look back on Lommel 3 here on MXMag.
Romain Febvre: “In the second moto I was in the lead very comfortably and did some good things, so I just tried to keep my rhythm. I knew I could be better on two specific parts of the track and saw Tim coming back. I was sure he must have better lines than me in those parts of the track, so I hoped to see his lines, but two corners after he passed me I crashed so I couldn't follow him. It's not really what I had hoped for, but at least we're back on the podium after narrowly missing out on the same points in the first two races here. I'm looking forward to Arco, maybe it will be cold, maybe not, but we feel good and will look for more podiums there.”
Clement Desalle: “It was raining this third GP in Lommel and during the time training I didn't want to take any risks in these conditions. I qualified thirteenth, but the times were very close. I was in the top ten at the start of the first race, there was mainly one line on the track and I had a decent race, even though I lost two places when I made a mistake. My second start was slightly better and I quickly found myself in seventh place. After that I lost two positions but I kept my rhythm and came back to sixth place. It was emotional on the last lap when I realized that for me it was the last lap of my last MXGP of Belgium. This was the best of the three we had this week, it's never easy to race here three times in a week, but I felt better today.”
