Husqvarna gives great status report on Arminas Jasikonis!
After the Latvian Motorsport Federation Earlier today Husqvarna Motorcycles also made itself heard about the positive news surrounding Arminas Jasikonis. After his crash during the MXGP of Lombardia on Sunday, Jasikonis was hospitalized in Cremona. There he woke up from his medically induced coma yesterday.
Arminas was soon able to recognize and converse with his family and the dedicated medical staff around him, in both Lithuanian and English. The fact that AJ can move his body without assistance is also reassuring. He is not in any pain and although he is of course tired, he is fortunately over the worst of his injury. This would also allow him to start his rehabilitation quickly.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing would like to thank all the medical personnel who cared for AJ, and everyone around the world who has shown him overwhelming support over the past few days.
Antti Pyrhönen – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing MXGP Team Manager: “Honestly, I have never been so happy to comment on one of my riders! To be able to say that AJ is okay, that he will be okay, is kind of a miracle! The last few days since his accident have been so emotionally taxing for everyone close to AJ, and that's just the worst. When he woke up, and we realized that he could talk, that he could move all his arms and legs, that he was in no pain and had no other injuries, it is still almost impossible to put into words how incredible that feeling was!
Of course, AJ still has a long way to go before he fully recovers. Of course he is still very tired, but the worst is now behind him and he can quickly start his recovery. I would like to once again express my sincere thanks to everyone who has been thinking of AJ in recent days, and to the overwhelming support and positivity we have received from the MXGP paddock and the global MX community. But most of all I would like to thank everyone at Husqvarna Motorcycles in Austria and the entire motorsport family there. My special thanks also to Robert Jonas and Heinz Kinigadner and also to our team owner Kimi, who immediately started organizing many things behind the scenes. Everyone in the team is extremely grateful for this positive result and is super relieved that AJ will do well.”
