Geico FC Honda team is calling it quits!
In the sidelines of the live coverage of the AMA Competitions on MAVTV and NBCSN, less pleasant news was also reported. For example, Jason Weigandt said during the broadcast that the 'Factory Connection' structure will most likely close its doors. This means that the organization behind the Geico Honda team is closing down.
The team owners informed all pilots and staff last Thursday that no replacement has been found for main sponsor Geico, who will stop sponsoring after this season.
It seems that, if no sponsor is found in the extreme, many great pilots will suddenly find themselves without a contract. They once again proved that the pilots in the Factory Connection team can do something during the National at the FOX Pala Raceway by capturing the entire top three in the last series with Jeremy Martin, Jett Lawrence and Jo Shimoda! Jeremy Martin already announced in his interview that he has already managed to sign a new contract.
It is not without reason that they say 'One man's death is another man's bread', because the disappearance of the FC Honda is an excellent opportunity for the competitors of the extremely dominant Monster Energy Star Yamaha to make themselves relevant again in the 250 class! We are mainly looking at KTM, who will again run the Factory team 'in-house' in 2021 and will assign Troy Lee Design the GASGAS team and of course also at Pro Circuit Kawasaki, who are no longer the dominant team of the past.
