Fantic and Yamaha acquire Motori Minarelli
Fantic Motor and Yamaha Motor Europe announce the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Motori Minarelli. This operation strengthens the existing Yamaha Motor and Fantic Motor synergy to take the cooperation between both companies to the next level in the field of motorcycles and e-mobility.
This partnership will enable Motori Minarelli to further increase its knowledge of engines and e-powertrain, broaden its product range, enter the e-mobility segment and strengthen Fantic Motor's competitiveness in the market, while maintaining current employment is retained. As a result of this acquisition, Fantic will benefit from Motori Minarelli's well-skilled workforce, the increase in industrial and R&D capacity and access to selected Yamaha engines and components with the latest technologies.
This operation is also in line with Yamaha Motor's ongoing global strategy to increase engine production efficiency through the global deployment of engine platforms. The partnership between Yamaha Motor and Fantic Motor will ensure a smooth transition to the new business plan and enable Motori Minarelli to support its mission while maintaining the company's identity.
The agreement is expected to be completed by the end of the year, subject to the completion of consultation with the Yamaha Motor Europe European Works Council and information to the local Motori Minarelli Works Council.
