Coldenhoff and Monticelli about the Spanish MXGP
After twelve Grand Prix, Glenn Coldenhoff occupies fifth place in the MXGP. At the Arroyomolinos circuit, the 29-year-old Brabander finished fourth in the daily rankings. His Italian teammate finished twelfth. Both look back on the Spanish Grand Prix, which was back on the World Cup calendar after a year's absence.
Glenn Coldenhoff: ''I am satisfied with today. I felt really good on the bike all day and that really helped. The level in MXGP is very high and that is why the start is very important. In the first moto I managed to come out of the first corner in third place, but in the third corner several riders collided. I had to stop to avoid a fall. It was frustrating because I dropped back to ninth place. I found some good lines and fought my way back to fifth place. I started the second heat with a good feeling. I didn't get away very well at the start, but I kept driving around the outside, which caused me to miss all the tracks and therefore also the chaos. This left me in fifth place after a number of corners. When Jeremy Seewer made a mistake, I managed to take over fourth place. Not bad because I scored good points. On to Lommel where we have three games in a row and I know I will be better there."
Ivo Monticelli: “I felt very good on this new track. Qualifying went well and with sixth place I knew my speed was good. To drive a consistent Grand Prix again is important to me. A thirteenth and twelfth place in the heats is good and a lot better than where I was a month ago. This gives me confidence for the rest of the season and I am very positive. I know I belong at the front and the aim is to finish in the top ten in every moto and finish the season strong.”
