Braceras postpones the party, Smulders scores well!
By taking the day's victory in Lommel, David Braceras has ensured that Andrea Bonacorsi cannot yet be crowned the new champion. The GasGas driver (2-1) wins ahead of Bonacorsi (1-5) and Hakon Osterhagen (8-2). The Fantic rider loses six points today but he goes to the final with a 38-point lead. Scott Smulders is the best Dutchman, he is tenth in the daily rankings despite only scoring during the second heat.

The best start during the first heat goes to Smulders, but he quickly sees Braceras pass. The Spaniard still has a chance of winning the title, but he must score well today. Pietro Razzini starts second for Osterhagen, but he is hit by Bonacorsi in the third corner. This causes the Norwegian to fall off the track and lose places. Razzini cannot follow the pace of leader Braceras and that is the sign for Bonacorsi that he had to pass his compatriot. The leader in the standings does this and then closes the gap. After 15 minutes of racing, the rider from Bergamo takes the lead and wins ahead of the GasGas rider. He still has to sprint in the last lap for Max Palsson who comes back very strong after a poor start! Razzini and his compatriot Andrea Roncoli complete the top five. Smulders is in the leading group until he goes off the track and loses a lot of time. Valk becomes the best Dutchman with fifteenth place, Van Erp scores two points by crossing the finish line in 19th. Smulders does not score, he is now 23rd.

In the second round, Osterhagen takes the best start and is followed by BT Racing rider Smulders and Braceras. The 17-year-old Spaniard quickly passes the Brabander and not much later Braceras is the new leader. When Osterhagen falls, it is Smulders who manages to put pressure on the leader. Later in the race, Florian Miot also joins both leaders. However, the Frenchman makes a mistake and Braceras still manages to distance himself from Smulders. In the last five minutes Osterhagen comes to life and he works his way up to second place! It is even possible to win the race, but Braceras is not surprised and he wins ahead of the CreyMert Racing driver. Smulder finishes third ahead of Meico Vettik who did not score in the first round. Bonacorsi completes the top five. Valk also now crosses the finish line in fifteenth place, Van Erp (22nd) and Boaz Bijtjes (32nd) do not score. This also applies to Junior Bal, the only Belgian in this violence.
The final of this championship will take place next Saturday, and will again be held on the Lommel circuit!
