“A great experience richer and nine points!”
Today during the fourth match of the European Open Championship, Rob Windt managed to score nine points. The KTM rider finished twelfth in the first round on the Arco di Trento circuit. He also seemed to finish the second moto in the points, but the light went out and he had to drop the pace. Still, the Groningen native looks back on this competition day positively.
Rob Windt: 'I got a reasonable start and came out of the first lap in seventh place. The pace was very high and in the initial phase I was able to manage this, but later I paid the change. I dropped back to twelfth place, but I was certainly not dissatisfied. I didn't get off to a good start in the second moto, but I managed to get myself back into the points. When I took over eighteenth place, the pace had to be slowed down. I was tired but didn't want to give up. At the finish you are 21st, which does not score any points, but finishing both heats was the goal. I am satisfied with this first day.”
