Van Meer and Knuiman rule on the Reulsberg
With no fewer than 50 participants, the MX2 Nationals-Inters/MX Open Inters started the first round at the Reulsberg circuit in Horst. Victory at the MX Open Inters came with a double heat victory in the hands of Belgian Jens van Meer. In the first heat, Van Meer defeated Jacky Tausch in a nice battle. In the second moto, van Meer took over the lead from the same Tausch on the fifth lap and managed to finish the moto with a 34 second lead.
With two second places, Tausch was second in the daily rankings, but he did excellent business and increased his lead in the standings at the MX Open Inters to 21 points over Bram van Hoek. Third place in the daily rankings went to René Albers, with two fourth places in the heats. He benefited, among other things, from the failure of Dylan van Veghel.
In the MX2 Nationals/Inters class there was no limit for Jeremy Knuiman. Even though Knuiman makes it even more difficult for himself than necessary by losing a lot at the starts, he managed to win both heats with a lead of more than 90 seconds and more than 60 seconds. Best of the rest both in the heats and in the day classification was Loeka Thonies. With a fourth and third place in the heats, Belgian Brent Aerden could take a seat on the lowest step of the podium, but due to the corona measures, the local government did not allow an award ceremony to take place.
