Strong start to the season for Weijers/Van de Wiel
The Nationals/Inters sidecars were also allowed to take their place behind the starting gate at the Meersteeg circuit in Geldermalsen for their first race. The day's victory with the sidecar Inters went to the duo Stephan Weijers/Aivar van de Wiel. This combination managed to take the lead in both heats from the fourth lap onwards. In the first heat they slowly but surely drove away from Thom van de Lagemaat/Kayran de Grauw.
In the second heat they had to deal with the German duo Andre Knübben/Simon Lenz, who managed to stay in the wake of Weijers/van de Wiel for a long time. However, Knübben/Lenz were no longer eligible for a good day's result due to missing the first heat. With a second and third place, it was van de Lagemaat/de Grauw who were the second to enter the podium. The battle for third place was decided based on the second heat. With a fourth and third place in the heats, Erwin Broens/Nick Maas managed to stay ahead of Patrick Greup/Jake Luiven. Partly due to the retirement of Bram van Dijk/Loet van der Putten, Broens/Maas were able to take their place on the podium.
