New Suzukis come with MX-Tuner function!
We had to wait a while for the yellow machines for the 2021 model year, but they are finally here. The RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 come with new graphics and the ability to adjust your injection and ignition via an app. You can adjust the settings via an app on your smartphone.
Apart from the graphics, little has changed compared to the 2020 model, but a major update is expected next year from the Hamamatsu brand. An unwritten rule says that dirt bikes get a major update every four years, including other brands. We are looking forward to hydraulic clutches, electric starters, more power and less weight. In any case, the Suzukis are still beautiful machines and pleasantly priced.
Included with the 2021 RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 is Suzuki's MX-Tuner 2.0 which provides the ability to easily adjust fuel injection and ignition system settings for optional racing performance. This is also possible on the 2.0 and 2019 models if you purchase an optional MX-Tuner 2020.
Using a smartphone application that connects wirelessly to the MX-Tuner's compact transmitter/receiver, fuel delivery and ignition timing can be quickly changed. The MX-Tuner can pre-program personalized settings into the ECU which can be activated by connecting one of the supplied fuel couplings. The app you need for this is WiGet for iOS and Android.
Racers and tuners can easily change settings to suit performance-related updates. The application can save a number of settings for different tracks or weather conditions, plus settings can be exchanged with other racers. Real-time engine data and run-time information can be accessed to help you maintain the engine.
