Mathys Boisrame rises to fifth place in the World Championship
The second Grand Prix at the Faenza circuit was a bit difficult for the F&H Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team. Mathys Boisrame and Roan van de Moosdijk score in a match. Mikkel Haarup unfortunately remains scoreless under the Italian sun. Because Mathys finished fifth in the first round, he took over fifth place from Roan in the standings. The victory went to Tom Vialle, he won both heats and significantly increased his lead in the title fight.
1st Round
With a pole position and three drivers in the top seven after qualifying training, the Moordrecht team entered the race with confidence. All three Motul-lubricated KX250F machines entered the first corner within the top ten. Things go wrong on the third jump when riders jump into each other. Roan and Mikkel are involved in this crash. Roan quickly gets back on the bike, but it appears to have too much damage to continue driving. Mikkel was hurt but appears to have suffered no damage other than bruises. Mathys manages to come out of the first round in fifth place and he looks Geerts in the back. After almost 20 minutes, the 22-year-old Frenchman managed to gain a spot when fast starter Guardagini had to slow down the pace. Mathys holds fourth place for a number of laps, but then Thomas Kjer Olsen comes up and passes the Frenchman. Mathys crosses the finish line in fifth place.
2e some
The team management decides not to let Mikkel start the second round. His teammates start the match well and are immediately in the leading group. In the first full lap, 19-year-old Roan makes a mistake, causing him to fall and drop back to 29th place! Mathys immediately manages to work his way into the top five and he clearly wants more. A nice attack on compatriot Renaux was successful and a little later third man Beaton had to make way for the 22-year-old Frenchman. He then chases Geerts who makes a mistake after almost 20 minutes of the match. It seems like it will be a long time for Mathys to reach second place on the podium, but with two minutes left on the clock things go wrong. The Leatt-clad rider crashes hard and, to his great regret, has to give up. Roan works extremely hard and manages to work his way back to a respectable thirteenth place, which fortunately means he still manages to score.
