Mathys Boisrame narrowly misses the podium!
Under summer weather conditions, Mathys Boisrame narrowly missed the podium during the sixth Grand Prix of the season. At the Faenza circuit, the Kawasaki rider managed to cross the finish line in third and fourth. The Frenchman thus finished fourth in the daily rankings. Roan van de Moosdijk has a setback in the first heat, which means he does not finish. The Eindhoven resident finished fifth in the second round. Mikkel Haarup also scores once, the Dane finishes seventeenth in the first round. The victory goes to Maxime Renaux, his compatriot Tom Vialle remains the leader in the standings.
1st Round
On Sunday morning, Mathys managed to qualify second for the competitions later in the day. Roan was good for a third training time. The Frenchman starts the first heat well, coming out of the first corner in third place, while Roan and Mikkel come out of the first corner in around tenth place. Due to a mistake by Crawford, Ostlund crashes and that causes Roan to collide with another rider and fall. Initially, the Brabander continues, but the 19-year-old rider's machine has suffered too much damage, causing the race to end prematurely. Mathys manages to hold fourth place for the first half of the race, but then leader VIalle makes a mistake. As a result, the 22-year-old Kawasaki rider managed to climb to third place. Vialle follows and a fierce duel ensues between the compatriots. But Mathys doesn't let himself be fooled and he comes in a good third! Mikkel was in fifteenth place for a long time, but he made a mistake which unfortunately caused him to lose two places, so the Dane ended up seventeenth.
2st Round
Roan gets off to a very good start in the second heat and dives into the first corner with Geerts and Renaux. Vialle passes by, but Roan manages to regain third place a little later by passing Geerts. Then the Leatt-clad rider makes a mistake that momentarily loses his balance. Geerts passes by and so does Mathys! From the first full lap, Mathys and Roan are in fourth and fifth place respectively. They manage to hold these positions until the finish! Mikkel crashes in the early stages of this heat over 30 minutes and two laps. He continues under his own power, but there appears to be damage to the engine. The 18-year-old Dane comes into the pits for repairs, but unfortunately that is not possible in the short term and it is also not responsible to continue driving. Unfortunately, Mikkel will not finish this race.
