Jorge Prado wins the first series after a tough duel with Seewer.
The first series in the MXGP class have just been held in Faenza. With 30 degrees and a blue sky it was quite warm to race today. Antonio Cairoli was the fastest ahead of Jorge Prado and Jeremy Seewer. Already in the first lap, Prado resolutely took the lead and never relinquished it.
Tim Gajser quickly wanted to pass Cairoli, but crashed briefly and had to resume in tenth place. Prado had to deal with a lot of pressure from Seewer half the match, but the Spaniard did not let his head fool him and remained clear. Cairoli rode third and closed in on the two front rivals. With three laps to go it went too fast for Seewer and crashed into Prado in an overconfident maneuver. He was able to get back up quickly to continue his way in third. Cairoli tried to get into the wheel of his teammate but was too late and finished second. Seewer finished third ahead of Evans and Gajser. The best Belgian was Desalle in ninth place.
