Jorge Prado takes his first MXGP victory!
Despite the absence of Jeffrey Herlings, KTM still won the seventh Grand Prix of the season. Jorge Prado crosses the finish line in second place in both heats, but that is enough for the day's victory. Tim Gajser (5-1) is second in the daily rankings ahead of Jeremy Seewer (1-7). Antonio Cairoli misses the podium, but he makes up many points on Jeffrey Herlings, who still has a 22-point lead in the title fight. Glenn Coldenhoff is doing well with a sixth and fifth place, the Brabander remains sixth in the standings.

For the fourth time this year, Jorge Prado wins the sprint to the first corner. The Spaniard takes the FOX Holeshot Award while Arminas Jasikonis and Jeremy Vanhorebeek collide and have to chase. In the early stages, Mitchell Evans is in second place but he cannot stop Seewer. The Swiss then looks for the connection and after almost 15 minutes he takes the lead. Prado is second, 15 seconds behind, Romain Febvre who is increasingly finding his way on the Kawasaki. Fourth place goes to Antonio Cairoli, who manages to stay ahead of Tim Gajser, who started from pole. Coldenhoff crosses the finish line in sixth place, while Clement Desalle (11th), Calvin Vlaanderen (12th), Vanhorebeek (13th) and Brian Bogers (15th) also managed to score.
2e some
Prado is also the fastest starter in the second round, followed by Cairoli, Desalle, Mitchell Evans and his HRC colleague Gajser. The Slovenian puts it to work immediately and comes second in the first full round. Prado is allowed to lead the field for about ten minutes, but then the world champion takes over. He wins for Prado, who comes under pressure from his teammate in the final phase. Cairoli briefly lost third place to Evans, but the Italian was stronger than the Australian in the final phase. However, the Spaniard remains out of reach for the nine-time world champion. Evans comes fourth just ahead of Coldenhoff. Seewer is seventh after coming out of the first corner in 14th. The Yamaha rider still comes back strong, allowing him to climb onto the podium. Desalle is now ninth and Vanhorebeek crosses the finish line in eleventh. Bogers scores well again with thirteenth place. Flanders remains outside the points with a 22nd place.
The championship will continue next Sunday and also at the Faenza circuit.
