Jeffrey Herlings sustains several injuries.
Jeffrey Herlings hit the ground hard this morning in the Free Practice. The Dutchman briefly lost feeling in his body. Below you will find a statement from his team boss Dirk Gruebel. For the time being, it appears that he is left with a dented and bruised neck and vertebrae from his fall, along with some major bruises. However, his injuries will be re-examined tomorrow in Belgium by specialist Jeffrey Herlings.
Dirk Gruebel: Jeffrey fell to the ground in the fourth round of Free Practice and hit his head hard. He regained feeling in his arms and legs quite quickly, but was still taken to Bologna hospital for full body scans. We have yet to see the results, but he was released from that hospital tonight. The injuries we are currently talking about are a dented and bruised neck and spinal vertebrae and a large hematoma on the shoulder. He is expected in Belgium tomorrow for more tests and hopefully the injuries are not too serious. It looks like it will take a few weeks to recover from this, but we cannot yet put an exact date on that.
