Harry Dale the new leader in ONK 50cc
In Halle, Harry Dale took over the lead in the KNMV Open Dutch Championship 50cc. The Briton won both heats and therefore has sole control of the lead. In the 65cc Big Wheels, Dean Gregoire came second, but he remains the leader in the standings. Yuel Karnebeek and Noam Mezzavilla both scored well on the beautiful Gelderland circuit.
50cc:
In the first heat, Harry starts second and when Van Hamond makes a mistake, the rider from Manchester immediately strikes. The KTM rider takes over the lead and he says he will not relinquish it. Harry also manages to control the second heat. The student takes the lead and holds it with both hands until the finish flag falls.
65cc KW:
Yuel clearly knows his way around this circuit and he rides a very strong first moto. The Alpinestars-clad crosser crosses the finish line in tenth place. His Belgian teammate struggles but Noam emerges and he has to settle for 22nd place. The rider from Soumagne takes revenge in the second round by crossing the finish line in twelfth place. Yuel sends his Vos Oss-KTM to a nice fifteenth place!
65cc GW:
In timed training Dean is the fastest and he comes out of the first corner third after the starting gate has fallen for the first heat. He then manages to pass the fast starter and a duel with Jayson van Drunen follows. Things get heated and both teenagers don't want to give in. Then the leader chooses a different line and Dean immediately makes his move! The rider from Geldrop takes the lead and wins the first heat. The KTM rider did not get off to a good start in the second moto and Van Drunen immediately closed the door. The 10-year-old rider has to work his way forward from the backfield. This works because the student comes second in the first round! Then the arrows are aimed at the leader and that connection is quickly found! Then Van Drunen makes a mistake, causing Dean to fall behind. He does not fall and is passionate about chasing to make up for the new deficit. That goes a little too wild and Dean falls. As a result, the Vos Oss KTM rider has to settle for second place in this heat and the daily classification.
Next time:
There is no competition scheduled for next weekend, after which the fourth KNMV ONK Youth will follow at the Oldebroek circuit.
