Glenn Coldenhoff leaves a strong impression!
Glenn Coldenhoff of Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing improved considerably in the seventh race of the MXGP World Championship in Faenza compared to the previous race in Faenza.
Coldenhoff came back to sixth place in the first moto after a difficult start to the moto. In the second moto he showed that he has the speed to compete for the podium places and took fifth place.
In the first moto Glenn came back strongly after losing many places in the first corner. He came back well and fell just short of a top five place, finishing sixth. In the second heat, Coldenhoff opted for a position more on the inside of the starting field to avoid the chaos in the first corner. This plan worked because he was able to start the race well in the top ten and quickly started to increase the pressure on Clement Desalle and Romain Febvre. He managed to pass both riders in the same corner and set his sights on fourth place. On the fast circuit, which consisted of one ideal line in many places, he was unable to gain any more places and crossed the finish line in fifth place on his MC 1F.
Despite the fact that Ivo Monticelli has done everything he can to recover from the stomach flu, he had to miss the seventh match of the world championship.
Glenn Coldenhoff:
“I am satisfied with my riding, although the end result does not really show that. I have improved considerably compared to Sunday and I am happy about that. Last weekend I didn't have the speed, but I did have it today in qualifying and in the heats. In the first moto it was crazy in the first few laps, so I decided to start further from the inside for the second moto to prevent this. Still, there was a lot of pressure, but I was able to free myself from it and worked my way up to fifth place. The gap to the fourth man was not that big, but because we all have the same speed at the front, it was difficult to catch up and force an overtaking maneuver. I'm looking forward to Sunday and I'm confident that I can go for better results."
This Sunday, Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing will start in the eighth round of the MXGP World Championship in Faenza.
