Florian Miot aims for a strong finish in Faenza
The competitions follow each other in rapid succession in Faenza. Those who are hurt or missing a piece of the famous puzzle have little time to find solutions. French champion Florian Miot started the 2020 EMX125 season ambitiously, the KTM Diga Junior Racing rider also immediately confirmed in Matterley Basin where he made the podium. During the last race in Faenza, Miot wants to end a difficult period.
Due to an unfortunate fall, the young Frenchman injured his hand on Saturday. This leaves him scoreless after Faenza 1. He also did not score in the opener on Tuesday. Although he still experienced some problems, Miot fought his way to thirteenth place in race 2, 1,5 seconds out of 11th. In terms of lap times, Florian set a pace that was worth pace-10. Still below his capabilities, but the turnaround has now started.
“Race 1 was still difficult for Florian, but we already saw that things were going in the right direction in the second heat. Meanwhile, his hand is also better again, so tomorrow he should be able to take another step. A new competition day with two heats gives him the perfect opportunity to take revenge,” said team manager Dirk Saelen.
Belarusian Daniel Volovich also made progress during the midweek. Volovich now managed to qualify and finished 33rdth.
Florian Miot: “The last race was very difficult for me. During the timed training I did not get further than 26th time. I didn't feel comfortable on the track and couldn't find a good rhythm. In the first moto I was pretty good, I was in the top 15, but in the second lap I hit another rider during a jump in the air. So I ended up only turning 33th. In the second moto I started in the top 20. However, coming back didn't go as well as I would have liked, so I was 13de ended up."
Daniel Volovich: “Well, it was already a bit better than the first round in Faenza, but I am still far from where I want to be. These are not the results I can be satisfied with. However, we will continue to work hard to finish higher.”
