Faenza III leaves KTM Diga Junior Racing with a bitter aftertaste
Due to a hand injury he sustained in the first match at the Crossodromo Monte Coralli, Florian Miot had to try to limit the damage last Tuesday. With this injury almost forgotten, the talented Frenchman sprained his ankle during training.
With a tenth place during the free practice - just over half a second behind the top 5 - Florian showed that he had what it takes. However, halfway through the qualifying session things went wrong. The KTM Diga Junior Racing rider still started in the first moto in which he was out of 24th to the 11de place drove. Because he hits his ankle again, Miot has to settle for the 20th place, good for one championship point.
After a bad start, Florian tries to defend himself as best he can in the restart. However, after seven rounds he leaves the match. Miot was now 16th in the standings after four lapsde in the championship. Daniel Volovich set the 38 in the morningth time and took 35 in the final scoreth position (30-32)
Belarusian Daniel Volovich also made progress during the midweek. Volovich now managed to qualify and finished 33rdth.
Florian Miot: “What a disappointing day. This was not how I wanted to end my week in Faenza. Especially because the feeling in my hand was okay in the meantime. The fact that I hit my ankle a second time after that serious sprain in the morning was unfortunately too much.”
Daniel Volovich: “The first heat was better than what I had shown here before, but of course we still have to work hard for the results we want. In the second heat I had a bad start and then I crashed early in the race. That made me completely lose my rhythm. We are now going hard in training to be as strong as possible in Italy and Belgium.”
