Duncan wins, Van de Ven has the redplate!
In Mantova, Courtney Duncan won the fourth round of the FIM WMX World Championship. The Kawasaki rider (2-1) won ahead of Nancy van de Ven (1-2) and Kiara Fontanesi (3-3). Larissa Papemeier (4-8) finished fifth and saw Van de Ven take over the lead! Lynn Valk finishes sixth ahead of Amandine Verstappen and Shana van der Vlist finishes ninth.

When the starting gate drops for the first heat, Van de Ven takes the lead. The Ghidinelli Racing driver is followed by Fontanesi, Duncan and Papemeier. The German quickly takes over third place from the New Zealander. For a moment Van de Ven seems to distance herself, but Fontanesi returns and takes Papenmeier and Duncan with her. Halfway through the race the difference between the top four is only four seconds. Then Duncan takes third place and not much later Fontanesi attacks the leader. With success because the KTM rider takes the lead and wins ahead of Van de Ven, Duncan, Papenmeier and the now present Verstappen. After the race, Fontanesi loses two places because the race management penalizes her for ignoring the yellow flag! Valk sends her Yamaha to seventh place ahead of Van der Vlist, who is in fifth place in the early stages. There are no points for Stephanie Stoutjesdijk, she comes 25th.
2e some
Duncan takes the best start in the second heat ahead of Van de Ven, Papenmeier and Fontanesi. The Italian quickly takes over third place and then Papenmeier makes a mistake! The German drops back to twelfth place and therefore also loses the lead in the standings. Duncan sets the pace and the Kawasaki rider takes distance. When he has a four-second lead, Fontanesi starts to increase the pressure on Van de Ven. The six-time champion tries to take second place, but 22-year-old Van de Ven is not giving up! Then 'Fonta' crashes and Van de Ven secures second place. Fontanesi now finishes third again ahead of Sara Andersen and Valk. Papenmeier is eighth behind Van der Vlist and ahead of Verstappen. Stoutjesdijk now scores four points, she finishes 17th in the second round.
With one match to go, Van de Ven is the new leader, Duncan follows only four points and Fontanesi six! Papenmeier is also not without a chance, the German is only ten points behind the leader! The decision will be made in Arco di Trento on October 31!
