Dale and Gregoire triumph in Delfzijl
The second match of the KNMV Open Dutch Youth Championship went well for Harry Dale and Dean Gregoire. In the lightest class, Harry won both heats with his VHS-tuned SX50. Despite a flat rear tire, Dean won both heats in the 65cc Grote Wielen on the Vos Oss-SX65 prepared by HNR Tuning. Sjevy Klokgieter is also on the podium, he comes second in the 65cc Kleine Wielen.
50cc:
In the first heat, Harry immediately takes the lead ahead of Van Hamond. The very talented Briton immediately sets a high pace and continues to expand his lead lap after lap. After seven laps the checkered flag falls and Harry wins with a lead of 47 seconds. The start in the second moto is a little slower, but from third place the KTM rider manages to work his way into the leading position in the first lap. The Judd Racing driver then manages to take control of the race and wins with a lead of 21 seconds.
65cc KW:
Noam Mezzavilla got off to a good start in the first heat and rode in a respectable sixth place for a long time. In the last lap the Belgian made a mistake, losing a spot and crossing the finish line in seventh place. Sjevy came out of the first corner in sixth place and he quickly worked his way up to third place. The gap to the second round of De Beer is getting smaller and in the last lap it works! 9-year-old Helmonder comes second. Chento van Zoest ran into problems in the first lap, forcing him to fight back from 16th place. The Limburger succeeds and finishes eighth, Yuel Karnebeek crosses the finish line in 22nd.
Also during the second moto, three of the four Team Youth Pro MX riders finished in the top ten. Sjevy now crosses the finish line in second place, Chento is now good for seventh place and Noam completes this heat in 12 minutes and one lap in the top ten. Yuel improves one position, he is now 21st.
65cc GW:
In time training Dean is by far the fastest and he starts the first heat in second position. In the first round, fast starter Kyshara Das is passed to win the match. Despite a flat tire, Dean takes his second moto win of the season. Later in the afternoon the heat goes off without a hitch, Dean leads the entire race and takes the full spoils with an almost ten second lead.
Next time:
The third race will not take long, the championship will continue on September 12 at the Halle circuit.
