Bonacorsi triumphs, Smulders scores fifth place!
The third race of the European 125cc Championship was dominated by Andrea Bonacorsi. The Fantic rider managed to win both heats on the Faenza circuit. Pietro Razzini (2-2) finishes second ahead of F4E Racing driver Guillem Farres (5-4). Scott Smulders' first round did not go smoothly, but he took revenge in the second round by finishing fifth! The 17-year-old Bonacorsi is the leader in the standings ahead of Razzini and Farres. Liam Everts drops to seventh place. Smulders is now seventeenth.

With the BT Racing Husqvarna, Smulders takes the best start during the first round ahead of Razzini, Farres, Andrea Rossi and Dave Kooiker. Bonacorsi hasn't had the best start, but he is working his way to the lead in a controlled manner. Razzini has taken the lead on the first lap, but Rossi is the first to finish the full lap. Rossi continues to lead for the first half of the race, but then Razzini comes back. He is not allowed to set the pace for long because Bonacorsi has worked his way to the front and he passes his compatriot Razzini with four laps to go. The rider from Bergamo wins the first heat with more than five seconds ahead of Razzini and Meico Vettik. Smulders crosses the finish line seventeenth and is the only Laaglander in the points. Ivano van Erp finishes 26th ahead of Cas Valk, who finishes 27th. Kooiker crosses the finish line in 34th and Junior Bal is 36th.

Also during the second round, SMulders is the best starter ahead of Razzini, Martin Venhoda, Max Palsson and Nikita Kucherov. Razzini quickly takes the lead again and it looks like he is going to take control of the match. Bonacorsi has had a very bad start and he narrowly comes out of the first corner in the top ten. The Fantic rider manages to displace Smulders from fourth place at the end of the first full lap. He then works his way forward in a controlled manner to take the lead after more than 15 minutes of the race. Corrado Maddii's pupil wins again for Razzini. The Swede Palsson comes third ahead of GasGas driver Farres and Smulders! A strong performance by the cross rider from Alphen! The other Dutchmen remain outside the points.
