Veldman/Cermak win Czech sidecarcross championship in Kramolin!
Julian Veldman and Ondreij Cermak have won the first race for the open Czech sidecar cross championship.
They managed to secure victory in Kramolin via a second and first place.
Daniel Willemsen and his French baking player Rudolphe Lebraton came second in the day's results. Third, Britt Wilkinson climbed onto the podium together with Swiss baking player Maxime Cuche.
Veldman/Cermak remained standing for 10 seconds in the first heat when the starting gate dropped and had to drive a huge catch-up race. Willemsen, riding with the young baker Lebreton due to a minor injury at Kaspars Stupelis, took the holeshot and managed to build up a nice lead on the rain-plagued circuit. At the finish they had just two seconds left to keep the unleashed Veldman/Cermak behind them. Wilkinson, assisted by Maxime Cuche due to an injury to baking player Humphrey, finished third.
In the second heat Willemsen/Lebreton again took the holeshot.
However, Veldman/Cermak had now started the match in midfield instead of at the back. As the race progressed, Veldman/Cermak moved forward and eventually won with almost a minute's lead.
Willemsen would come second and just like in the first round, Wilkinson came third.
