Savaste wins, the Lowlanders in the points
Kim Savaste also won the first round during the third race of the European Championship 'Open'. The KTM rider managed to win by a wide margin ahead of Toms Macuks and SKS Racing rider Miro Sihvonen. The leader in the standings, Karel Kutsar, only finished sixth and lost ten points from his lead over Savaste. Greg Smets is the best Laaglander, he comes eleventh, where Mike Bolink (19th) and Damian Wedage (20th) also score.
From pole position, Savaste makes the best start ahead of Macuks and Kutsar. A nice duel immediately arises between the winners of the previous two matches. Kutsar seems to be winning this match until he makes a mistake and falls. Macuks takes over second place but he never becomes dangerous for the leader. Savaste wins ahead of Macuks and Sihvonen who rides a lonely race. Kutsar seems to be in fourth place, but when Cornelius Toendel passes him, the KTM rider makes mistakes. He falls in the same bend as the first time and later on a double jump he crawls through the eye of the needle. Toendel finishes fourth ahead of Andero Lusbo and Kutsar, who loses ten of the fourteen points lead with sixth place!
