Savaste the third winner of the season, Smets 7th!
With a first and third place, Kim Savaste has become the third winner in as many competitions of the European Championship 'Open'. The Finn won in Kegums ahead of Toms Macuks (2-2) and Karel Kutsar (6-1). Greg Smets finished seventh in the overall standings. Mike Bolink (19-18) and Damian Wedage (20-20) managed to get into the points in both rounds. In the title battle, Kutsar remains the leader, Savaste follows nine points behind the leader! Smets occupies tenth place and is therefore by far the best Laaglander.

From the previously captured pole position, Savaste makes a good start and takes the lead. The winners of the previous matches, Macuks and Kutsar, follow and compete with each other. Savaste takes distance and when Kutsar falls, Macuks is assured of second place. Sihvonen drives a lonely race, the SKS Racing rider finishes third. Kutsar comes under pressure from Cornelius Toendel and then the leader in the standings makes a mistake. He crashes and drops to sixth place. The JWR rider finishes fourth ahead of Estonian Andero Lusbo. Smets crosses the finish line in eleventh place, Bolink (19th) and Wedage (20th) are also in the points.

The second heat also seems to be for Savaste as he is in the lead for almost 20 minutes. However, the KTM rider is visited by the man with the hammer and sees Kutsar and Macuks pass. With a third place, the rider from Helsinki becomes the overall winner. Sihvonen crosses the finish line in fourth place after he manages to pass Toendel. The Norwegian completes the top five. In the initial phase, Smets finished in a decent fourth place, but the son of made a mistake that caused him to fall. Fortunately, Smets can continue and crosses the finish line in tenth place. Bolink improves one position compared to the first heat. The WPM rider is eighteenth and Wedage is now in twentieth place.
The fourth and final match of this championship will take some time. This is scheduled for the weekend of November 1 at the Arco di Trento circuit.
