Nancy van de Ven wins both heats in Boekel
After years of absence, the KNMV Open Dutch Women's Championship is back! Nancy van de Ven won this first race of the year at the Boekel circuit. The Zeelander managed to win both heats, but that was not very easy. In the second heat, Shana van der Vlist became very dangerous in the final phase, but the Apeldoorn native came second. Van de Vlist (3-2) is therefore second in the daily rankings ahead of Lynn Valk (2-3).
Van de Ven takes the best start in the first round ahead of Van der Vlist and Valk. In the first round, the woman from Nijverdal managed to take over second place and despite painful forearms she managed to hold on to this position. Van de Ven wins with a 10 second lead over Valk and Van der Vlist comes third. Britt Jans-Beken loses fourth place to TJ O'Hare in the second round and Amber Simons also passes by. Well into the second half of the race, the LAkerveld Racing driver managed to recover and finished fourth ahead of the Australian who completed the top five.
Also in the second heat it is Van de Ven who leads the field for the entire race. Valk starts second, but the Yamaha rider sees Van der Vlist pass and he then increases the pressure on leader Van de Ven! The KTM rider still manages to become dangerous for the multiple GP winner! Van der Vlist has to settle for second place ahead of Valk and O'Hare. Fifth place goes to Jans-Beken, who came back very strongly from outside the top ten to fifth place.
