Kash van Hamond takes the first victory!
With two victories, Kash van Hamond has won the first competition of the KNMV Open Dutch Championship 50cc. The Husqvarna rider managed to stay ahead of Harry Dale twice in Boekel and Limburger Stan Pijpers (4-3) came third. The second competition will be held next week, which will be organized in Delfzijl.
From the pole position, Dale takes the best start ahead of Van Hamond, Pijpers, Gijs van Veen and Vital Vannooten. At the exit of the second corner, Van Veen takes over third place. Dale tries to distance himself from the front, but Van Hamond just lets go. In the second lap the Future MX Team rider makes a mistake, causing Dale to distance himself. The Judd Racing driver's lead increases to twelve seconds. Van Hamond manages to eliminate the backlog little by little. The race seems too short for the rider from Best to connect. In the last round Dale makes a mistake and Van Hamond wins ahead of Dale and Van Veen. Pijpers comes fourth, followed by Nelson Braakman.
Van Hamond takes the best start in the second heat, but Dale comes out of the first corner as the leader. Nick de Jong follows in third place ahead of Braakman and Timeo Mohring. Dale now manages to break free quickly, he seems to be winning. Halfway through the heat things really go wrong and the leader falls. Van Hamond takes the lead and Dale joins. It's exciting and when the final lap starts all eyes are on the leaders. In the same corner as a few laps before, Dale made a mistake and Van Hamond also won the second round ahead of the crosser Manchester. Pijpers is now doing even better, crossing the finish line in third place ahead of Daan Overveld and Stan van Beek.
