Desalle and Febvre talk about Kegums3
Romain Febvre and Clement Desalle also look back on the third GP in just eight days. Febvre scored well and, despite missing two races, is already tenth in the FIM MXGP World Championship standings. Desalle did not have a pleasant day, he explains here why things did not go well last Sunday.
Romain Febvre: “It was an average day I would say, with two fifth places for fifth overall. The first moto was good, my start wasn't really what I wanted but I was able to come back to fifth place. I used a lot of energy in this race because it was difficult to pass some riders, but I was happy with the result. In the second race my start was much better, but I just didn't have enough energy to do better than fifth place. I am a bit disappointed, but also happy with the results I achieved here during the three GPs in Latvia. It was my first GP races of the season and I scored well in each one. I know where I came from and I'm happy with my speed, but I need to improve my rhythm during the races. I'm going back home quite satisfied with a podium and two fifth places.”
Clément Desalle: “I had a big crash at the end of the timed training and that affected my day because I had pain in my neck and my arm. My first start was quite good – fifth or sixth – and I held my position for a few laps before having to accept eighth. I was a bit disappointed because a sixth position was possible, but after my crash this morning that wasn't a bad result. The second heat was not good. The start was ok, but my neck hurt and I had a bad feeling during the second part of the race. It's not easy to ride in pain! It was quite difficult to do three races in one week. It was okay for the first two, but I didn't like it that much the third time on the same track.”
