Clément Desalle regrets the closure of the Lierneux circuit
Earlier this week, André Mathieu announced on social media that his circuit in Lierneux (province of Liège) would be closed for training. This was a direct consequence of the local government's revoked opening permit. A disgruntled citizen had previously filed a complaint against the number of training courses - although clearly limited - that took place in Lierneux.
This (temporary?) closure once again puts more pressure on the supply of permanent circuits in Wallonia and Belgium in general. On social media, Clément Desalle, among others, criticized the lack of government support for motocross.
Given the location, it should be possible - provided good will from both sides - to find a decent compromise for the Lierneux circuit. So that people from the area receive guarantees about respectful operation on the one hand and that riders can still rely on an additional training course on the other.
