Benistant is the best again, De Wolf shows teeth!
The third race of the European 250cc Championship was also won by Thibault Benistant. The Frenchman managed to win both heats on the sand circuit of Kegums. The Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing rider managed to take the day's victory ahead of Meico Vettik (3-6) and Isak Gifting (12-2). The first moto does not go smoothly for Kay de Wolf, but during the second moto the Husqvarna rider shows his teeth. The Husqvarna rider battled to a fourth place, which gave him seventh place in the daily rankings. Liam Everts (7-11) finished ninth today. In addition to De Wolf, both Twan van Essen and Marcel Conijn scored five points today.

Just like last Saturday, Guyon takes the best start for the first heat over 25 minutes and two laps. The Frenchman takes the lead ahead of compatriot Benistant, Meico Vettik, Gianluca Facchetti and Pierre Goupillon. In the first round De Wolf manages to enter the top five, but a little later the Brabander makes a mistake. Due to a second slide, he falls far back, so he has to work hard to cross the finish line in fourteenth. At the front, Guyon is allowed to set the pace for 18 minutes, after which Benistant takes the lead. The Hutten Metaal Yamaha rider wins ahead of rookies Guyon and Vettik. Fourth place goes to Tim Edberg, the Riley Racing driver started the race in seventh place but is working his way neatly to the front. It will be very exciting in the last round, but Mattia Guadagnini has to be satisfied with fifth place. The Maddi Racing rider still finished fourth in the results, Edberg received a five-place penalty because his machine made too much noise during the re-inspection. Everts finished seventh ahead of Camden Mc Lellan, who is competing for the JUMBO-No Fear Energy-BT Racing Team this year. Twan van Essen finished 16th with the Marchetti Racing-KTM! There are no points for Kjeld Stuurman (24th), Koen Gouwenberg (30th) and Marcel Conijn who crashed in the first corner.

The sprint to the first corner is won by Joel Rizzi, but with the 'Redplate' Benistant takes the lead. Bastiaan Boegh-Damm quickly follows and manages to take the lead in the first full lap. Benistant lets the Dane set the pace for about eight minutes and then the Yamaha rider returns to the lead. The WZ Racing rider has to slow down, causing him to drop back to eighth place. Gianluca Facchetti dropped out in the first heat, but now he cannot hold on until the finish. He has to spread out so that a group of riders joins in. Hakon Fredriksen has had no trouble getting past the Italian. Behind the Swede Gifting, the Norwegian comes third ahead of De Wolf who fights for a long time with Edberg. The Swede is clearly not afraid of a wolf and both riders regularly pass each other. De Wolf is stronger in the final phase and finishes fourth ahead of the Riley Racing driver. Everts crosses the finish line in eleventh and Mulders Motoren driver Conijn takes five points by now crossing the finish line in sixteenth.
The championship will continue next Saturday in Kegums! Benistant is already 24 points ahead of Gifting, Mattia Guadagnini follows 36 points behind the leader.
