VLM cancels restart of 2020 season!
Unfortunately, the resurgence of the coronavirus has thrown a spanner in the works. VLM's plans to start again on August 1 and 2 will therefore definitively disappear into the trash bin. VLM/JMS chairman Eddy Houtemeyers made the following statement following the cancellation.
Following the advance of the second wave of the coronavirus and the introduction of new measures, this is an update regarding motocross events.
Phase 5, which involves relaxing measures such as increasing spectators from 400 to 800, will not take place. Several measures will be taken to prevent the resurgence of the coronavirus. The rules surrounding the presence of spectators will also be severely restricted.
Together with the local authorities, being the municipalities, we have taken responsibility to cancel the new start of the 2020 motocross season. Following the decisions of the Security Council, there are also not enough people available to provide the necessary medical care. That is why this assistance cannot be guaranteed, and therefore the safety of everyone is jeopardized and cancellation is a necessary fact.
All registrations will be stopped. Riders who have made a financial transaction to acquire a day license will be reimbursed via the same transfer method. Certain modalities will also be discussed for the full licensees of VLM and JMS to provide a possibility for transfer to next year.
Let us all now bear the responsibility of getting the virus under control and thus following the measures to respect everyone's health.
TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT
